Conference: Research WITH Fathers

CONFERENCE: RESEARCH WITH FATHERS

Swansea University 9.30- 3.30pm

Keynote Speaker: Dr Jonathan Scourfield, Professor of Social Work, Cardiff University
Other speakers include:
Mr Tony Ivens,  Independent Consultant in Fatherhood
Dr Sue Higham, Bedfordshire University, England.  ‘Fathers’ care of their child during an acute admission to hospital’  
Dr Amy Brown, Swansea University. ‘Father’s role in supporting breastfeeding’.
Dr Ruth Davies and Mrs Cathy Taylor ‘Fathers and Flying Start in Wales’.
Fathers are increasingly involved in  their child ‘s health and well being yet evidence from research and practice seems to show that this is not always recognised by health and social care professionals. This conference will explore both recent and emerging research in relation to this and how future research with fathers may lead to better understanding of the role they play and in doing so improve services for fathers and their families..
