Love is in the Air
Love will be in the air on Monday 11th February 2013 when Play Montgomeryshire and Newtown Library will present its Stay and Play and Story Telling Session at Newtown Library from 2 to 4 pm.
The Librarian will be reading the children Stories, after which Play Montgomeryshire will be providing a range of craft and play activities for the target age range 3 to 12 years (but children of all ages welcome).
A spokesperson for Play Montgomeryshire explained, " If its cold or wet the Stay and Play and Story Sessions in the Newtown Library are the place to go - its warm, dry and most of all FUN. In addition to the play and craft activities we will be selling craft materials at cost price and toys will be available to hire to members. Membership is free."
If you want to know anything else about this free story and play session please phone the Library on 01686 626934 or Play Montgomeryshire on 01686 626713; or email admin@playmontgomeryshire.co.uk. Splash of Play in Caersws
Thanks to a grant from their Community Council, Play Montgomeryshire in collaboration with Play in Powys, will be running a "Splash of Play" session in Caersws Village Hall on Friday 15th February from 2 to 4 pm.
Activities will include making rain-makers, puppets and "tile art" snowflakes as well as cooking on an open fire in the park opposite. They will suit all ages and abilities as each child can work/play at their own level. There will also be toys to play with, dressing up and facepainting - all Free of Charge!
We recommend children attend in suitable clothing, especially to play outside. Children under eight years and those requiring additional support will need to attend with a responsible adult to help them gain most from the session. This is not a care, but a play provision.
A spokesperson for Play Montgomeryshire said "This is a new initiative in which two play providers are working together to provide a great and fun afternoon for the children of the Caersws area. Dyfodol Powys Futures project "Play in Powys" and Play Montgomeryshire are really pleased to be able to put on this event during the half term, and to be able to provide it free of charge. With sufficient funding we aim to put on more such projects all over Montgomeryshire".
If you want to know anything else about this event please phone Play Montgomeryshire on 01686 626713; or email admin@playmontgomeryshire.co.uk. Watch out for the Facebook page "Play Montgomeryshire" where there are updates of our activities and projects.
