PCC Consultation of Early Year's Provision coming up in the Spring

Powys County Council Update

Consultation of early year’s provision
 30 January 2015 |
A review of early year’s provision for children and families across the county will be carried out this summer, Powys County Council has announced.

The council is contacting all current providers to inform them of the planned consultation and to answer any questions they may have prior to the planned events.

Cabinet Member for Education, Councillor Arwel Jones said: “The council is looking to create a sustainable and equitable service across the county, ensuring that families receive a quality service regardless of where they live. The review will focus on 3+ funded early years education provision, Flying Start Childcare providers and settings used for the Referral Scheme as well as Children’s Services placements.

“After consultation with providers, a full review of the early years provision will ensure that all funded providers have the necessary arrangements to deliver high quality early years provision which is sustainable, suitable and accessible for children and families accessing the service for future years.

“All providers and families who have an interest in early years provision in Powys are encouraged to attend the consultation meetings in their local area, and their valuable input and feedback is welcomed by the council in helping shape future services.”

Dates of the planned consultation will be released early this spring.
