Llandrindod organisations, clubs, businesses, and shops have been delighted to discover that they can exhibit and advertise free of charge in the Llandrindod May Fair 2013 on Bank Holiday Monday May 6th in the Pavilion from 11am to 4 pm.
The May Fair is a new event on the Llandrindod calendar, a community celebration of LOCAL Llandrindod, hosted by the Llandrindod transition town group and supported by the Llandrindod Wells Town Council. Di Greaves, spokes-person for the May Fair organising committee explained:
"The May Fair is going to be a fun day out for all the family, a festival celebrating everything that is good about LOCAL life in Llandrindod. There are going to be competitions, tasters, displays, talks, local food and drink, demonstrations, family fun, entertainments and live music, all celebrating and promoting local produce, crafts, talent, skills, clubs, trades, businesses & good causes. Amongst the delights on offer at the Pavilion will be our Kino pop-up cinema, Makers & Growers Market, Spa Health & Fitness Zone, Upcycling Hub, and much more. We can also promise it will be the start of some really exciting new ideas about volunteering and grass-roots action in the town, as well as getting everyone together to have a good time.
"We're very pleased to be able to offer 6' exhibition stalls to local clubs, community groups and businesses for recruitment, promotion, fundraising and sales. These are offered at no charge in exchange for a contribution to the fun and interest of the May Fair, which could be a talk, competition, family activity, or a demonstration. We've had some brilliant ideas coming in, but if you're stuck we'll help you think of something. There are also free of charge 3' tables in the Makers & Growers Market for any local people who would like to sell their hand made crafts or home grown produce, just in return for a donation of a item of their produce or craft for our May Fair competitions.
"We're offering completely FREE advertising to all local businesses, shops and trades people, inviting them to send us their own video adverts to be screened in the KINO between films, then to go on to the website promoting Llandrindod business. We'd encourage everyone to have a go at this - there will be no charge, and if you don't have the technical know-how, why not ask around family and friends? there is sure to be someone you know who is a budding film maker with a digital camera or smart phone.
"There is also going to be a big push on promoting the SHOP LOCAL message, and again a free opportunity to advertise with your fliers and business cards.
" However we do urge anyone who would like to take part, sell, promote, advertise etc to fill in a booking form THIS WEEK, without delay - exhibition stalls in particular are going fast - you can download the invitation and booking form from our website www.tinyurl.com/mayfair2013- docs
