2013 Conference: A Difficult Start? Supporting Positive Attachment Relationships
2013 CONFERENCE
12 July 2013
10am to 4.15pm
Media Resource Centre, Llandrindod Wells, LD1 6AH
‘A Difficult Start? Supporting positive attachment relationships’
In recent years the significance of children’s early attachment relationships has
been increasingly acknowledged in all child care services. But there is not always
clarity or agreement in applying theory to practice. Questions arise such as…
What do we mean when we talk about attachment?
What are the effects of insecure or disorganised attachment patterns?
How does neurological research inform our understanding of attachment?
And last, but by no means least,
Where children have had a difficult start in life, what can we do to support
those children and build their resilience?
The Windfall Centre is very pleased to have engaged three excellent speakers to
explore these and other questions with us (see over). In addition to providing a
keynote address, all speakers will host seminar workshops in the afternoon where
issues can be explored in more detail.
