Aims and Objectives:
This course provides opportunities for youth workers to
explore, challenge and reflect on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered
(LGBT) issues within a modern youth service.
The training will be delivered within a confidential, supportive and
inclusive environment where learners will be able to contribute in the context
of using their personal experiences and youth work practice.
The course is designed to explore personal values and
attitudes toward sexual orientation and provide opportunities for
reflection. The latter part of the day
examines and provides strategies for managing homophobia within the youth work
setting.
