Hello, and welcome to this week’s newsletter.  Recruiting trustees can be a risky process, sometimes ending in the hiring of candidates that might look good on paper but are unable to commit to the responsibilities required. Our new training course, delivered by Getting On Board, will help give you a clearer idea of the type of trustees you need, develop a draft advert, give you a list of free places to advertise, and a plan of how to ensure that new trustees hit the ground running. Last year, WCVA launched its Plan for Change, which outlines what we hope to achieve alongside the third sector in Wales. Now we need your help to establish the impact our services are having on the sector and to track our progress towards achieving the goals described in the Plan, by completing this survey. Those who leave their contact details at the end of the survey will be entered into a prize draw and a £100 donation will be given to the organisation of the winner! Empowering our communities in the context of Brexit

WCVA, in partnership with Welsh Government, has secured funding from the EU Transition Fund to help us better understand the impacts and to support the sector in Wales to plan for the different eventualities arising from Brexit. These free events from Third Sector Support Wales are open to all third sector organisations in Wales but especially those organisations and groups that deliver non-statutory services, and / or are currently receiving EU funding or employing EU citizens.

Funding latest

Swimathon Foundation Community Grants scheme Between £300 and £2,500 is available to groups supporting projects aimed at getting people in local communities to participate in swimming.

Lush Charity Pot Funding Funding of between £100 – £10,000 is available to small, grassroots groups.

Marsh Christian Trust Grant Grants of between £250 to £4,000 are available for groups to pay for various running costs.
