infoengine Spreads its Wings

Click to search for community and voluntary organisations within Powys

Powys Community Directory spreads its wings – helping people to ‘know what’s out there’!

infoengine, Powys' online directory of community and voluntary services, is now available across the Mid and West Wales region, covering Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Powys. The infoengine website is an online directory making it easier for people across Powys to find and access the support services they need; from local food banks and sports clubs to wildlife welfare and national charities.

Claire Powell, PAVO's infoengine Officer comments:
"Searching for help, social activities and support can be overwhelming in a county the size of Powys. The aim of infoengine is to help people to discover what's available in their local community with lots of information in one place. The website is easy to use and available on mobile and tablet devices."

Hilda Day, Powys resident and member of Meeting Point Montgomeryshire comments
"It gives really useful information of where to find support in Powys, I know it will be very useful when our members come to us for help"

infoengine was developed by PAVO (the Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations) in partnership with Powys County Council and with the support of Powys teaching Health Board.

Joy Garfitt, Head of Adult Services, Powys County Council comments:
"Powys County Council's Adult Social Care supports the continued growth of infoengine as an invaluable tool for signposting clients and carers to support provided by the voluntary sector"

The use of infoengine in Powys has caught the eye of organisations across Wales. The County Voluntary Councils from Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire will now adopt the infoengine website to support people in their own areas.

Claire Powell added:
"We are really pleased that an initiative started in Powys is being used and supported by other counties in Wales. infoengine is also an excellent way for community and voluntary groups to promote their services for free across Mid and West Wales and provides an accessible tool for professionals looking to signpost people to other support services."
