Children & Young People Now have investigated and reported on the massive reduction in funding for play in counties across England.
Spending has been reduced by 39% over the past 3 years and hit the levels of staffed, professional play workers employed.
With further budget cuts planned across England, it is predicted that there will be fewer play opportunites available for children to access.
It will particularly hit children in disadvantaged areas where parks and green areas are of poor and staffed provision have been invested in.

Here is Powys we will be working with partners, funders and the community to help build sustainable Play opportunities for our communities. It does mean that we need some funding eg: for training and support community based volunteers but we need to be creative and value the benefits of play for everyone.
This Network connects third sector organisations with each other, makes links with strategic planning and processes of Children & Young People's Partnership.
