Carers Service
Powys Carers Service is a registered Charity and Company
Limited by Guarantee. Established in 2003 it has built up a range of services
providing information, advice, advocacy and practical support to over 2,000
unpaid Carers of all ages across Powys through a network of skilled Outreach
Workers. It has a current turnover of over £500,000pa and employs 20
full and part time staff.
Sadly, after many years of service our current Treasurer is
now retiring.
We therefore seek somebody who could take on this role. It
would suit a person with a background in public/voluntary or private sector
management who may themselves have direct or indirect experience of being a
Carer.
The Treasurer will be responsible for overseeing the
finances, financial control and budgeting of the organisation as implemented by
the CEO and Finance Officer.
Powys Carers Service is well managed and proud of the
outcomes it achieves for Carers through its skilled and committed staff by making
the best use of the resources available.
The Treasurer will be expected to attend four evening Board
meetings each year and Finance meetings every two months. All meetings are held
in Llandrindod Wells. The post is unpaid but agreed out-of-pocket expenses will
be reimbursed.
