Children in Wales Seminar
Addressing the Health Agenda in the Early Years

Wednesday, 18 May 2016, 9.30am - 2.00pm,
Children in Wales' Offices, Cardiff

Following our first, very successful half-day seminar in February 2016, thispractical seminar aims to inform those working with children in the early years of the public health agenda and to consider the best ways to support localdelivery.

We are delighted that Avril Hooper, Flying Start Manager at Cardiff Council, will chair the seminar and facilitate discussion during the day.

Speakers include:

Jane O'Kane, Professional Head of Health Visiting, Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board - Addressing the public health agenda
Liz Western, Senior Public Health Officer, Hywel Dda Public Health Team, Public Health Wales - Healthy Pre-School Scheme and addressing the challenge of childhood obesity

The format of the day will ensure that delegates have an opportunity to:
  • Hear the experts' presentations
  • Ask questions of the presenters
  • Discuss the topics in more detail and work in groups to consider implications for their practice
Feedback from participants at February's Early Years and Accident Prevention Seminar was very positive, with all respondents reporting that they were satisfied with the organisation of the seminar.  98% felt that they were very or completely better informed and that, as a result of the seminar, they will do things differently in their job role.
Number of participants (max): 25

Cost: £40 Members

Ymdrin â'r Agenda Iechyd yn y Blynyddoedd Cynnar

Dydd Mercher, 18 Mai 2016, 9.30yb - 2.00yp, Swyddfeydd Plant yng Nghymru, Caerdydd

Yn dilyn ein seminar hanner diwrnod gyntaf, lwyddiannus dros ben ym mis Chwefror 2016, nod y seminar hon yw rhoi gwybodaeth i'r bobl sy'n gweithio gyda phlant ym mlynyddoedd cynnar yr agenda iechyd cyhoeddus ac ystyried y ffyrdd gorau o gefnogi cyflwyno lleol.

Rydym wrth ein bodd mai Avril Hooper, Rheolwr Dechrau'n Deg yng Nghyngor Caerdydd, fydd yn cadeirio'r seminar ac yn hwyluso'r drafodaeth yn ystod y dydd.

Ymhlith y siaradwyr bydd:

Jane O'Kane, Pennaeth Proffesiynol Ymweliadau Iechyd, Bwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Abertawe Bro Morgannwg - Ymdrin â'r agenda iechyd cyhoeddus
Liz Western, Uwch Swyddog Iechyd Cyhoeddus, Tîm Iechyd Cyhoeddus Hywel Dda, Iechyd Cyhoeddus Cymru - Cynllun Cyn-Ysgol Iach a mynd i'r afael â'r her o ordewdra ymysg plant

Bydd fformat y dydd yn sicrhau bod y cynrychiolwyr yn cael cyfle i wneud y canlynol:
  • Clywed cyflwyniadau'r arbenigwyr
  • Gofyn cwestiynau i'r cyflwynwyr
  • Trafod y pynciau'n fanylach a gweithio mewn grwpiau i ystyried y goblygiadau o ran eu hymarfer

Roedd yr adborth gan gyfranogwyr yn Seminar Y Blynyddoedd Cynnar ac Atal Damweiniau ym mis Chwefror yn gadarnhaol iawn, gan i'r holl ymatebwyr adrodd eu bod yn fodlon ar sut trefnwyd y seminar. Teimlai 98% fod ganddynt wybodaeth lawer gwell, neu gyfangwbl well, ac y byddent, o ganlyniad i'r seminar, yn gwneud pethau'n wahanol yn rôl eu swydd.
Nifer y cyfranogwyr (uchafswm): 25
