Top 10 Tender Tips!

Top 10 Tender Tips, August 2013

1. Read the specification.  Read it again.  This is what you will have to deliver if you are successful.
2. Know the bigger picture.  Make sure you know the basics of the One Powys Plan, the Families First Plan and how to work in rural Powys.
3. Does this service fit in with your organisation’s strategic plan, charitable aims & objectives?
4. Make sure you have evidence of a track record delivering similar services.
5. You will need to demonstrate that your organisation has sound accountability and governance arrangements in place.
6. Work in genuine partnership.   Can  you show that you have fully integrated management and delivery structures in place and that they work?
7. Remember to attach all the documents that are asked for.  You don’t want to miss out because you have missed something!
 8. It’s important to cost the service realistically.  Make sure it is sustainable but make sure it is efficient.
9. Read the assessment criteria.  The evaluation panel will use this to decide the winner.  Ask a critical friend to mark the final draft before submission.
10. Finally, and importantly, answer the question!  Be clear, succinct and don’t waffle.
These are some Top Tips PAVO have picked up as a result of being part of Tender Evaluation Panels.  If you wish to discuss any further details on Children & Young People's Tenders in Powys please do get in touch.
