Shaping Services Together: helping to shape mental health services across Powys & Wales

The Powys Stronger in Partnership Network and Mental Health Action for Wales are bringing together people of all ages; children, adults and older people to discuss with key decision makers their experiences , discuss solutions and engage with shaping mental health services in Powys and Wales.

This conference is primarily for anyone interested in mental health services and/or mental health in Powys.

It crosses all ages so includes looking at prevention and learning from each other, particularly people who've been in contact with mental health services for many years, adults and older adults.

It is unique in that it will challenge the way mental health services are delivered and will stimulate a good debate. It will also focus in on some real current issues, such as the impact on people of welfare reform and alternatives to the current medical model of treating mental distress.  It will challenge the current views and beliefs in relation to mental illness.  The Powys Youth Forum and Theatr Clwyd will also look at shifting beliefs from a young person's perspective.

Our main aim is to get as many senior/key decision makers, both nationally and locally to the event so they can speak directly with individuals and carers, from across all ages, thereby facilitating direct contact and feedback on local issues both with local and national policy and decision makers.
