Local Authorities in Wales, in partnership with support agencies, will be undertaking a count of rough sleepers on one night during the month of November 2018.
Ahead of the actual count, research will be undertaken with partner agencies to identify any incidences of rough sleeping across Powys.
If you or your friends and family become aware of any incidences of rough sleeping around our county, I would be very grateful if you would email me with details – my contact email is below. Such information will assist us in focussing our resources on particular areas in the lead up to the one-night count, and beyond.
For information, a definition of rough sleeping is:
People sleeping, about to bed down (sitting in/on or standing next to their bedding) or actually bedded down in the open air (such as on the streets, in tents, doorways, parks, bus shelters or encampments). People bedded down in buildings or other places not designed for habitation (such as stairwells, barns, sheds, car parks, cars, derelict boats, stations or “bashes”).
Thank you in advance for your help with this.
