The following Signs of Safety CP Fora event is now available to book with further events planned.
Date: Monday 4th June 2018
Time: 9:30am – 4:30pm
Venue: The Media Resource Centre, Oxford Rd, Llandrindod Wells LD1 6AH
We are running a special CP fora event which will be focusing on the Signs of Safety model. The Signs of Safety is an innovative strengths-based, model of care, which Powys County Council’s Childrens Services will be applying to their child protection casework in the first instance. The approach focuses on the question “How can the worker build partnerships with parents and children in situations of suspected or substantiated child abuse and still deal rigorously with the maltreatment issues?”
This strengths-based and safety-focused approach to child protection work is grounded in partnership and collaboration. It expands the investigation of risk to encompass strengths and Signs of Safety that can be built upon to stabilise and strengthen a child’s and family’s situation. A format for undertaking comprehensive risk assessment — assessing both danger and strengths/safety — is incorporated within the one-page Signs of Safety assessment protocol.
Please book places via Trent Self-Service or email pwbotu@powys.gov.uk or telephone 01597 827330
