Young Adult Peer Support Co-ordinator (YAPS Project)

Ponthafren Association has the following vacancy.

 Young Adult Peer Support Co-ordinator (YAPS Project)

3 year project until April 2016

 22 hours per week

 Salary £17550 per annum (£10296 pro rata)

This is a unique and challenging opportunity funded by the Big Lottery to develop a peer support mentoring project for young people between the ages of 16-25 who have mental health issues within the Newtown area. Our project is rooted in giving youth a voice and allowing youth to rise as the leaders of their communities.

You will need:

·   Previous experience in project management.

·   Previous experience of working within a mental health field

·   Experience in best practice research and risk management

·   At least 3 years previous experience in managing volunteers, peer mentoring or          group facilitation.

·   At least 3 years experience working with Young People and positive youth        development programs, planning or facilitation

·   Excellent communication and negotiating skills; ability to relate to people at all             levels; experience and knowledge of the third sector in Powys; experience of       monitoring and excellent training, presentation and group-work skills. You will to          be self-motivated, flexible, well organised and possess good ICT skills. Ability         to communicate in Welsh is an advantage

·   Must have the ability to travel.

Mae hwn yn gyfle unigryw a heriol a ariennir gan y Loteri Fawr i ddatblygu prosiect mentora cefnogaeth cymheiriaid i bobl ifanc rhwng 16-25 oed sydd â phroblemau iechyd meddwl o fewn ardal y Drenewydd. Mae ein prosiect yn cael ei wreiddio mewn rhoi llais i’r ieuenctid a chaniatáu’r ieuenctid i godi fel arweinwyr yn eu cymunedau.

Bydd angen:
• Profiad blaenorol mewn rheoli prosiectau.
• Profiad blaenorol o weithio mewn maes iechyd meddwl.
• Profiad mewn ymchwil arfer gorau a rheoli risg.
• O leiaf 3 blynedd o brofiad blaenorol mewn rheoli gwirfoddolwyr, mentora cyfoedion neu hwyluso grŵp.
• O leiaf 3 blynedd o brofiad o weithio gyda Phobl Ifanc a rhaglenni datblygu ieuenctid cadarnhaol, cynllunio neu hwyluso.
• Sgiliau cyfathrebu a thrafod rhagorol, gallu i ymwneud â phobl ar bob lefel, profiad a gwybodaeth am y trydydd sector ym Mhowys, profiad o sgiliau gwaith grwp, monitro, cyflwyno a hyfforddiant rhagorol. Byddwch yn berson efo sgiliau hunan-gymhelliant, yn hyblyg, yn drefnus ac yn meddu’n dda efo TGCh. Bydd y gallu i gyfathrebu yn Gymraeg yn fanteisiol.
• Byddwch yn gallu teithio.
