Good Practice in Handling Personal Data FREE Training by Information Commissioner's Office

Handle With Care – good practice workshops in handling personal data

The Information Commissioner’s Office in Wales is running a series of free half-day workshops in February and March across Wales. The workshops will provide practical advice on the basic do’s and don’ts of handling personal information for those on the front line of service delivery.

Aimed primarily at smaller organisations, the focus will be on ensuring adequate levels of security and privacy, and avoiding costly data protection breaches. The sessions will draw on examples of both good and bad data handling practice from audits we have recently undertaken. Sharing personal information with other organisations while still staying within the law will also be covered.

The workshops are likely to be of most benefit to those who work on the front line of services but whose main responsibility is not information governance or data protection compliance. Please feel free to pass on this invitation or the attached flyer to other relevant colleagues in your organisation.

To ensure the right level of audience interaction we are limiting numbers at each event to thirty. If requesting multiple places please bear in mind that we may not be able to accommodate such requests. We will confirm places at a later date.

The workshops will run in the mornings, timings to be confirmed, and the locations are as follows:-

*         Wednesday 12 February – Holiday Inn, Llandarcy

*         Tuesday 18 February – Radisson Blu, Cardiff

*         Tuesday 11 March – Venue Cymru, Llandudno

*         Wednesday 12 March – Beaufort Park Hotel, Mold

*         Tuesday 25 March - Lolfa Cynin, St Clears

*         Thursday 27 March – Llety Parc, Aberystwyth

Triniwch â gofal – gweithdai ar arferion da wrth drin data personol

Mae Swyddfa’r Comisiynydd Gwybodaeth yng Nghymru’n cynnal cyfres o weithdai hanner diwrnod yn Chwefror a Mawrth ledled Cymru. Rhoddir cyngor ymarferol am hanfodion trin a thrafod gwybodaeth bersonol i bobl sy’n gweithio yn y rheng flaen wrth gyflwyno gwasanaethau.

Gan anelu’n bennaf at sefydliadau bach, byddwn yn canolbwyntio ar sicrhau lefelau digonol o ddiogelwch a phreifatrwydd ac osgoi enghreifftiau costus o dorri diogelwch data. Bydd y sesiynau’n defnyddio enghreifftiau o arferion da a drwg a welwyd mewn archwiliadau rydyn ni wedi’u cynnal yn ddiweddar. Ymdrinnir hefyd â rhannu gwybodaeth gyda sefydliadau eraill ac aros o fewn y gyfraith.

Mae’r gweithdai’n debyg o fod yn fwyaf buddiol i’r rhai sy’n gweithio yn y rheng flaen mewn gwasanaethau ond nad yw llywodraethu data neu gydymffurfio â diogelwch data yn rhan o’u prif gyfrifoldeb. Mae croeso ichi drosglwyddo’r gwahoddiad hwn fel y bo’n briodol i staff perthnasol yn eich sefydliad chi.

I sicrhau lefel briodol o ymateb gan y gynulleidfa, rydyn ni’n cyfyngu’r niferoedd ym mhob gweithdy i ddeg ar hugain. Os ydych yn gwneud cais am fwy nag un lle, cofiwch ei bod yn bosibl na fyddwn yn gallu bodloni’ch cais.  Byddwn yn cadarnhau’r lleoedd sydd ar gael yn nes ymlaen.

Yn y bore y cynhelir y gweithdai, ac mae’r amser i’w gadarnhau. Bydd y lleoliadau fel a ganlyn:-

*         Dydd Mercher 12 Chwefror – Holiday Inn, Llandarcy

*         Dydd Mawrth 18 Chwefror – Radisson Blu, Caerdydd

*         Dydd Mawrth 11 Mawrth – Venue Cymru, Llandudno

*         Dydd Mercher 12 Mawrth – Gwety’r Beaufort Park, Yr Wyddgrug

*         Dydd Mawrth 25 Mawrth - Lolfa Cynin, Sanclêr

*         Dydd Iau 27 Mawrth – Llety Parc, Aberystwyth

Os hoffech chi ddod i un o’r gweithdai uchod, anfonwch neges e-bost at wales@ico.org.uk, gan gynnwys yr wybodaeth a ganlyn:-

1.    Eich enw, teitl eich swydd, eich cyfeiriad e-bost a’ch rhif ffôn.

2.    Enw’r sefydliad rydych chi’n ei gynrychioli.

3.    Y dyddiad a’r lleoliad yr hoffech eu dewis (rhowch eich dewis cyntaf a’ch ail ddewis).

4.    Ai drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg yr hoffech chi gyfrannu.

Os oes gennych unrhyw gwestiynau eraill, cysylltwch â Bethan Bonsall neu Dave Teague ar 029 2067 8400.

Does dim rhaid talu i ddod i’r digwyddiad.
