WCVA Update - 29 November 2018

This week's updates from WCVA

26 November 2018
Hello and welcome to this week's newsletter
At WCVA we are focused on making a difference, and love sharing what we're doing to help us achieve our vision of a thriving third sector in Wales. Our Annual Report for 2017-18 was launched at our Annual General Meeting and Lecture last week, and is now available to read on our website or to watch as an animated summary. Please have a look and let us know what you think!
International Volunteers Day falls annually on 5 December and is a great chance to celebrate the impact and values of volunteering worldwide. The theme this year is Building Resilient Communities ( a theme close to our hearts) with a special focus on local community volunteers - who contribute to making their communities more resilient against natural disasters, economic stresses and political shocks.  If you have stories to share we will be happy to share them, or why not tweet our volunteering team @VolWales using #IVD2018 #resilientcommunities.
Thanks for reading, we'll see you again next week.

Invitation to Play Meeting

Play Sufficiency in Powys – meeting to discuss and complete the required Welsh Government Assessment by March 2019
Invitation from Cllr Rachel Powell, Portfolio Holder for Young People and Culture

Following on from the Play Conference in September 2018, as an important partner you are invited to a meeting on Friday 7th December, 10am in the Wye Conference Room, Antur Gwy, Builth Wells, to further discuss and complete the necessary Welsh Government Assessment which is due in March 2019.

To book email: chantelle.holcroft@powys.gov.uk

The Assessment requires a review and up to date status of Play Sufficiency Opportunities in Powys, which cover a range of different matters and requires the input and engagement of services, partners and organisations. The previous Assessment is attached for your information.

We would really appreciate if you would contribute to this Assessment. The meeting will cover what has been submitted previously and the requirements of what is needed to complete the next one. Following the meeting, you will be asked to engage with your services and partners to collect data with regards to the current picture, identifying any gaps or needs. It is proposed that there is another meeting at the beginning of February 2019 to conclude the process and complete the Assessment documentation.

I hope that you are able to join us on the 7th December, as it is important that we have as complete picture as possible of the Play Opportunities in Powys.

With thanks

Cllr Rachel Powell
