Further to our announcement in August regarding the future of youth
services in light of very difficult budgetary pressures, PAVO is about to
embark on an assessment of the capability of the voluntary youth sector in relation
to open access youth provision.
We are drawing up an in-depth
survey to map out the provision currently on offer from the voluntary
youth sector. The survey will generally cover the:

extent,
·
quality,
·
sustainability
·
and safety of provision.
The information from this survey will be crucial to inform planning of
resources and support for groups. The voluntary sector may well have to
meet an increased level of demand, in terms of the numbers of young people and
meeting their specific, sometimes challenging, diverse needs.
In addition to the survey, we will be arranging opportunities to bring
together and meet with groups in the very near future to hear more about
the opportunities your group provides to young people.
This will be an exciting opportunity for voluntary youth groups across
Powys to plan and shape with us the future face of youth provision.
So that we gather the right information it would be helpful if your
organisation is a PAVO member and/or registered on Powys InfoEngine.
If you
are affiliated to a national organisation please make sure your representatives
are able to provide the information to feed through to us. We look
forward to working with all our partners to create the best
possible opportunities for young people in Powys to achieve their potential.
