Substance Misuse Training Bursary Scheme which makes available funds for the workforce of Powys who currently work within the field of substance misuse. The bursary supports both training courses and higher and further education opportunities associated within the direct and immediate area of substance misuse services.
Funding is available for up to £1,134. Applicants do not have to apply for the full amount but the difference for any training courses applied for which exceeds this amount will have to be covered by the applicant. Any successful training/course application will need to ensure it fits in line with the intentions and priorities of the Powys APB as laid out in the Powys APB Substance Misuse Commissioning Strategy, 2015-20.
Please note that repayment of the bursary will be required on a pro rata basis should beneficiaries of funding leave the substance misuse field in Wales within 2 years of completing the training course. In addition, we may from time to time request information about the training or course that the bursary has funded but will give you prior notification before doing so.
To receive an application form for Powys’s Substance Misuse Bursary Scheme, and the Commissioning Strategy please email: joe.wellard@powys.gov.uk
There will be two opportunities for funding, one in October, and one in January - applications will be considered by the APB’s Performance & Finance Subgroup at the October 2016 and January 2017 meetings. Completed application forms should be returned to joe.wellard@powys.gov.uk by Tuesday 12th Oct 2016 for the October meeting and Friday 6th Jan 2017 for the January meeting.
Please note that the funding available is set and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis for successful applications so could potentially all be allocated by October depending on number of successful applications received.
