This Year’s Conference will provide delegates with the opportunity to listen to the experiences of young service users who will be presenting the findings of the recent ‘Making Sense’ report into CAMHS. The conference will highlight recent work to engage with Children and Young People across Wales and how we will address the key issues they raised. Speakers will include:
- Mair Elliot and Jake Roberts, Mental Health Campaigners.
- Sally Holland, Children’s Commissioner for Wales
- Catriona Williams OBE, Chief Executive, Children in Wales
- Professor Robin Banerjee, Developmental Psychology, University of Sussex
The conference will provide an update on progress of the priorities developed with stakeholders and the formal launch of a number of key products from the Programme:
- All Wales Professional Training Module in Resilience and Mental Health
- Quality and Delivery Framework for Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
- Public Health Wales Needs Assessment and Evidence Review
- ‘Together for Children and Young People’ (T4CYP) Website
In the afternoon we will be running a series of 6 parallel workshops to share our progress to date across all of the main Programme work stream areas. Delegates will be asked to chose two separate workshops to attend so that they can actively help us to shape the key priorities for the next 12 months.
There will be a number of displays highlighting the project work of Third Sector organisations currently receiving Section 64 funding from the Welsh Government via the Third Sector Mental Health Grant to support the Together for Mental Health Delivery Plan for Children and Young People. These will be available for delegates to visit during the morning over refreshments and again during lunch.
Representatives from all relevant agencies are welcome. Delegate places are free. Please register your attendance via eventsforce by clicking on the following link: http://www.eventsforce.net/nliah/817/home
