Are you working with young people with fewer opportunities aged 18-25?
· Are your young people interested in volunteering abroad?
· Are they ready for a (well supported) challenging experience to leave their comfort zones, learn about themselves and others, push their boundaries and motivate them into further opportunities, here in Wales or further afield?
· Can you support your young people in the preparation (especially fundraising, £150) and follow-up phases to support them to get the most out of their experiences?
Then the UNA Exchange Step by Step programme may be of interest. Supported by the Erasmus+ programme and Welsh Government, we have 19 different opportunities to volunteer in other European countries from two weeks up to two months this year. The majority of the costs are met for participants (£150 contribution is the only financial requirement) and training, preparation & additional support are provided. We will also have an autumn/winter programme of activities for participants to continue their journeys after they take a first step.
Attached you can find the full programme of opportunities (please let us know if you would like any hard copies) plus a Local Partnership form which, if you return to us, will enable us to begin working together.
Next steps…..
· Talk to your young people to check levels of interest, and readiness for a big challenge;
· Let us know that you are interested, and we can discuss next steps;
· Complete the attached “Local Partnership” form to ensure we have all your details and to help us understand your interest;
I hope you find something here of interest to your young people. These are fantastic opportunities that we really hope to see taken up by more young people in more parts of Wales in 2016.
