Aim: For practitioners to develop skills in working with and across cultural diversity in assessing needs and developing support plans. Key Learning Outcomes: To be able to: § Understand a range of factors affecting a person’s culture: for example; nationality, ethnicity, language, religion, sexuality, age, class § Understand and reflect on own culture and cultural values § Recognise the importance of cultural factors in an individual’s priorities and preferred outcomes § Communicate openness to traditions and values that are different from one’s own § Be confident and skilled to assess needs and facilitate support plans that identify and meet people’s cultural outcomes
