The council and Powys Teaching Health Board are working together to develop and adopt a Pledge to all children and young people (0-25) in Powys.
This pledge is part of the development of a Child Friendly County, where children and young people will be able to access services and support to help them reach their potential and to be the best-equipped citizens for tomorrow’s world. We are drawing on the Children’s Commissioners for Wales’s ‘Rights Based Approach’ Guidance and UNICEF guidelines for developing a Child-Friendly City.
You can find out more and share your views via an online survey.
Consultations are also taking place with children and young people, taking into account as many views as possible to ensure this is the best pledge that it can be.
The online survey closes on 30 November. The consultation results will shape the final pledge, which will go back to Cabinet and Powys Teaching Health Board for adoption in the New Year.
Once launched the Pledge will be accompanied by guidance with more details about each pledge and a report on the journey so far.
