   New Deadline for applications 31st August!

BBC Children in Need Funding Surgery

PAVO is pleased to announce that two days of pre-booked appointments have been organised in collaboration with BBC Children in Need. The opportunity to access this very popular funding programme is open to voluntary and community groups that work with disadvantaged children and young people. Groups serving POWYS will be able to apply for a 30 minute appointment with James Bird, a BBC Children in Need grants officer, to discuss the eligibility and potential of a project proposal.
Surgeries will be held on Friday 21st September in Ystradgynlais from 10am – 1pm and Brecon from 3pm – 7pm, and on Monday 24th September in Llandrindod Wells from 10am - 1pm and Newtown 3pm – 7pm. There will be a maximum of twelve appointments available each day. 

To apply for an appointment please forward an outline of your project proposal (no more than one side of A4), preferably by e-mail, to diana.berriman@pavo.org.uk with your preferred location and second choiceApplications must be received by Friday 31st AugustPlaces are limited so please apply ASAP.

BBC Children in Need supports stable, well-managed, and effective organisations that work with disadvantaged children and young people aged 18 years and under living in the UK (groups that work with people of all ages may also apply as long as the project is focused on work with those aged 18 and under). Disadvantaged children and young people include those affected by:

·        illness, distress, abuse, or neglect;
·        any kind of disability;
·        behavioural or psychological difficulties;
·        living in poverty or situations of deprivation.

The application should focus on the children your project will work with and the differences that your project will make for them. You should be able to clearly demonstrate the link between the disadvantage and how your project will change the lives of the children involved for the better. Where possible it should take into account their views and involve them in decisions that affect them.

BBC Children in Need funds two types of grants The Small Grants Programme is for grants up to and including £10,000 to support projects for up to three years.  The charity’s Main Grants Programme is for grants over £10,000 per year to support projects for up to three years. All projects funded by the charity must demonstrate a positive impact on the lives of disadvantaged children and/or young people under the age of 18.  Our funding is accessible all year round with 3 Main Grant deadlines in January, May and September and 4 Small Grant deadlines in March, May, September, and December.

Like many funders BBC Children in Need has a list of work that it will not fund as follows:

·        overseas projects or trips;
·        medical treatment/research;
·        unspecified expenditure;
·        deficit funding or repayment of loans;
·        retrospective funding (projects taking place before the grant award date);
·        projects that cannot start within 12 months of an award date;
·        distribution to another/other organisation(s);
·        general appeals or endowment funds;
·        relief of statutory responsibility;
·        the promotion of religion;
·        projects for pregnancy testing or advice, information or counseling on pregnancy choices;
·        Individuals (unless an eligible organisation is applying on their behalf);
·        building projects costing over £20,000;
·        general awareness-raising work;
·        bursaries, sponsored places, fees or equivalent.

To help you check if you are eligible to apply for funding please read the following carefully:

·        applicants must be a constituted not for profit group with a  bank or building society account and at least two unrelated cheque signatories;
·        applicants must have a written Safeguarding policy;
·        applicants must have adequate and appropriate insurance.

Cymhorthfa Cyllido BBC Plant mewn Angen

Mae’n bleser gan PAVO gyhoeddi bod dau ddiwrnod o apwyntiadau sydd wedi’u trefnu ymlaen llaw wedi’i drefnu ar y cyd â BBC Plant mewn Angen. Mae cyfle i grwpiau gwirfoddol a chymunedol sy’n gweithio gyda phlant a phobl ifanc dan anfantais gael mynediad at y rhaglen gyllido hynod boblogaidd hon. Bydd grwpiau sy’n gwasanaethu Powys yn gallu gwneud cais am apwyntiad 30 munud gyda James Bird, swyddog grantiau BBC Plant mewn Angen, i drafod cymhwysedd a photensial cynnig am brosiect.

Cynhelir comorthfeydd ddydd Gwener 21ain Medi yn Ystradgynlais o 10am - 1pm ac Aberhonddu o 3pm - 7pm, ac ar Ddydd Llun 24 Medi yn Llandrindod o 10am - 1pm a’r Drenewydd 3pm - 7pm. Bydd uchafswm o ddeuddeg apwyntiad ar gael bob dydd.

Mae BBC Plant mewn Angen yn cefnogi mudiadau sefydlog, effeithiol sy’n cael eu rheoli’n dda, sy’n gweithio gyda phlant a phobl ifanc dan anfantais, 18 oed ac iau, sy’n byw yn y DU (mae modd i grwpiau sy’n gweithio gyda phobl o bob oed wneud cais, ar yr amod fod y prosiect yn canolbwyntio ar waith gyda’r rheini sy’n 18 oed ac iau). Mae plant a phobl ifanc dan anfantais yn cynnwys y rhai y mae’r isod yn effeithio arnynt:

·        salwch, trallod, cam-drin neu esgeulustod;
·        unrhyw fath o anabledd;
·        anawsterau ymddygiad neu seicolegol;
·        byw mewn tlodi neu sefyllfa o amddifadedd.

Dylai’r cais ganolbwyntio ar y plant y bydd eich prosiect yn gweithio gyda nhw a'r gwahaniaeth y bydd eich prosiect yn ei wneud iddynt hwy. Dylech allu dangos yn glir y cysylltiad rhwng yr anfantais a sut y bydd eich prosiect yn newid bywydau’r plant dan sylw er gwell. Pan fo hynny’n bosib, dylai ystyried eu barn a’u cynnwys yn y penderfyniadau sy’n effeithio arnynt.

Mae gan yr elusen dwy ffynhonnell gyllid.  Mae’r cynllun prif grantiau yn gwobrwyo dros £10,000 am hyd at dair blynedd ar y tro.  Dyfernir grantiau bychan hyd at £10,000 hefyd am 3 mlynedd. Mae ein cyllid ar gael drwy gydol y flwyddyn gyda 3 dyddiad cau i’r Prif Grantiau ym mis Ionawr, May, a Medi a 4 dyddiad cau i’r Grantiau Bach ym mis Mawrth, Mai, Medi, a Rhagfyr.

Fel nifer o gyllidwyr, mae gan BBC Plant mewn Angen restr o waith na fydd yn ei gyllido, fel a ganlyn:

·        teithiau neu brosiectau tramor;
·        ymchwil / triniaeth feddygol;
·        gwariant amhenodol;
·        ad-dalu benthyciadau neu gyllido diffyg;
·        cyllido ôl-weithredol (prosiectau'n weithredol cyn dyddiad dyfarnu’r grant);
·        prosiectau na fydd yn gallu dechrau o fewn 12 mis o ddyddiad dyfarnu;
·        dosbarthu i fudiad(au) arall/eraill;
·        apeliadau cyffredinol neu gronfeydd gwaddol;
·        rhyddhau corff o’i gyfrifoldeb statudol;
·        hyrwyddo crefydd;
·        prosiectau ar gyfer profi am feichiogrwydd neu gyngor, gwybodaeth neu gwnsela ar ddewisiadau beichiogrwydd;
·        prosiectau adeiladu sy’n costio dros £20,000;
·        gwaith cyffredinol ar gyfer codi ymwybyddiaeth;
·        bwrsarïau, llefydd noddedig, ffioedd neu gyfatebol.

Mae modd dyfarnu prif grantiau o dros £10,000 am hyd at dair blynedd ar y tro (ac eithrio gwyliau/preswyl y gellir eu cyllido am flwyddyn ar y tro).  Dyfernir grantiau bychan o £10,000 a llai hefyd am 3 blynedd.

Mae ein cyllid ar gael drwy gydol y flwyddyn gyda 4 dyddiadau cau i’r Prif Grantiau ym mis Ionawr, May, a Medi a 4 dyddiad cau i’r Grantiau Bach ym mis Mawrth, Mehefin, Medi, a Rhagfyr.

·        rhaid i ymgeiswyr fod yn grŵp dielw sydd â chyfansoddiad, yn ogystal â chyfrif banc neu gymdeithas adeiladu ac o leiaf dau lofnodwr sieciau nad ydynt yn perthyn;
·        rhaid i ymgeiswyr gael polisi ysgrifenedig ar amddiffyn plant;
·        rhaid i ymgeiswyr fod ag yswiriant digonol a phriodol.
