Play Day 2014 theme announced: Play is ......

Playday 2014 - theme announced!
Welcome to the first Playday 2014 campaign update! We've been busy behind the scenes over the past few months and are pleased to now announce that the Playday 2014 campaign theme is Play is…

The Playday 2014 Play is... campaign is spreading the word about why play is crucial for children and young people’s health, wellbeing and happiness. The campaign recognises that:

  • Play supports children’s physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Play promotes children’s development, creativity and independence.
  • Play allows children to find out about themselves and the world around them.
  • Playing is fun and children and young people should enjoy themselves.

We are launching a new Facebook page to support the Playday 2014 campaign. Over the coming weeks, we will update the Facebook page with all the latest campaign news, including ideas on how you can use thePlay is… campaign to spread the word about the importance of play for children and young people. You can also keep up to date through Twitter. In the meantime, here are a few ideas on how you can get involved:

  • Hold a Playday celebration – big or small, whatever you do will help raise awareness about children and young people’s right to play.
  • Help spread the Playday word – post it, Tweet it, blog it! Repost from our Twitter and Facebookand use the #Playday2014 hashtag.
  • Become a Playday supporter – if your organisation is passionate about children and young people’s play, contact us to find out about becoming a Playday 2014 supporter.

However you decide to get involved, there's lots of advice and guidance available on the Facebook page to get you started - and more will be coming soon!

So, whether you've got kids, you work with kids, or you're a big kid yourself, Playday needs you!

Thank you for your continued support

The Playday campaign is coordinated by Play Wales, Play England, Play Scotland and PlayBoard Northern Ireland.

Diwrnod Chwarae 2014 - cyhoeddi'r thema!
Croeso i gylchlythyr cyntaf ymgyrch Diwrnod Chwarae 2014! Rydym wedi bod yn brysur y tu ôl i’r llenni dros y misoedd diwethaf ac mae’n bleser gennym gyhoeddi mai thema ymgyrch Diwrnod Chwarae 2014 yw Chwarae yw …

Mae ymgyrch Chwarae yw ... Diwrnod Chwarae 2014 yn lledaenu’r gair pam fod chwarae’n allweddol i iechyd, lles a hapusrwydd plant a phobl ifainc. Mae’r ymgyrch yn cydnabod:

  • Bod chwarae’n cefnogi lles emosiynol a chorfforol plant.
  • Bod chwarae’n hybu annibyniaeth, creadigrwydd a datblygiad plant.
  • Bod chwarae’n caniatáu i blant ddysgu amdanynt eu hunain a’r byd o’u hamgylch.
  • Bod chwarae’n hwyl ac y dylai plant a phobl ifainc fwynhau eu hunain.

Rydym yn lansio tudalen Facebook newydd i gefnogi ymgyrch Diwrnod Chwarae 2014. Dros yr wythnosau nesaf byddwn yn diweddaru’r dudalen Facebook gyda holl newyddion diweddaraf yr ymgyrch, yn cynnwys sut y gallwch ddefnyddio ymgyrch Chwarae yw  … i ledaenu’r gair am bwysigrwydd chwarae ar gyfer plant a phobl ifainc. Gallwch hefyd dderbyn y newyddion diweddaraf trwy Twitter. Yn y cyfamser, dyma rai syniadau sut y gallech ymuno yn yr hwyl:

  • Cynnal dathliad Diwrnod Chwarae – yn fawr neu fach, bydd beth bynnag y byddwch yn ei wneud yn helpu i gynyddu ymwybyddiaeth am hawl plant a phobl ifainc i chwarae.
  • Helpu i ledaenu’r gair am Diwrnod Chwarae – postiwch, trydarwch, blogiwch! Ail-drydarwch negeseuon o’n tudalennau Twitter a Facebook a defnyddiwch yr hashnod #DiwrnodChwarae2014.
  • Cofrestru i fod yn Gefnogwr Diwrnod chwarae – os yw eich sefydliad chi’n frwd dros chwarae plant a phobl ifainc, cysylltwch â ni i ddysgu mwy am fod yn Gefnogwr Diwrnod Chwarae 2014.

Waeth sut y penderfynwch gefnogi’r ymgyrch, ceir llawer o gyngor ac arweiniad ar ein tudalen Facebook i roi cychwyn ar bethau – a cheir mwy yn fuan iawn!

Felly, os oes gennych chi blant, os ydych yn gweithio â phlant neu os ydych yn blentyn mawr eich hun, mae Diwrnod Chwarae eich angen chi!

Diolch yn fawr iawn am eich cefnogaeth barhaus
