Qualifications Wales is currently working with key partners
to develop a new suite of Health & Social Care and Childcare qualifications
for Wales. This work entails developing new Approval Criteria which set out the
minimum requirements for a qualification. As part of this development work, we
are engaging with experts from the sector to ask for their feedback on our
proposals. We will be doing this via a series of Wales wide events for
practitioners, employers, training providers, teachers and lecturers, in which
we will be sharing aspects of the Approval Criteria. During the events, we will
be inviting participants to discuss the aims, structure, schemes of assessment,
titles and grading of the new qualifications.
We will also be asking attendees to consider the support and
resources needed to deliver the qualifications from September 2019. We will
then use the feedback from the sessions to strengthen the Approval Criteria
ready to be published in March 2018.
