Third Sector Capacity - mapping data needed

PAVO has been asked to carry out a mapping exercise of the third sector's capability in Powys, particularly in relation to the changing eligibility criteria for Social Care. Expectations are being placed upon the sector to support people who will no longer be eligible for social care. In particular, the strategy refers to third sector befriending services, information services and advocacy services.

By completing this brief questionnaire, you will be able to highlight any additional resources or help your organisation and/or service will need in order to provide the sustainable, safe and reliable support that is needed.

To complete the Questionnaire in English, please click HERE
Closing date 27th February 2015

Mae PAVO wedi cytuno i gynnal arolwg mapio o allu'r trydydd sector ym Mhowys, yn enwedig mewn perthynas â newid y meini prawf cymhwysedd ar gyfer Gofal Cymdeithasol.

Mae disgwyliadau yn cael eu gosod ar y sector i gefnogi pobl na fydd mwyach yn gymwys i dderbyn gofal cymdeithasol. Yn benodol, mae'r strategaeth yn cyfeirio at wasanaethau cyfeillio trydydd sector, gwasanaethau gwybodaeth a gwasanaethau eiriolaeth.

Drwy gwblhau'r holiadur byr hwn, byddwch yn gallu tynnu sylw at unrhyw adnoddau neu help ychwanegol bydd angen ar eich sefydliad a / neu wasanaeth er mwyn darparu'r cymorth cynaliadwy, diogel a dibynadwy sydd ei angen.

Volunteering Opportunities in Health & Social Care

Volunteering in Health and Social Care

There is a long tradition of volunteers in Powys contributing to health and social care services. If you have a friendly personality and can spare a couple of hours a week, you could provide regular social contact to an older person or a person with a long term health condition either face-to-face or by telephone. Some of the ways you can give your time include:

  • Popping round to someone’s house for a cup of tea and a chat,
  • Helping them with shopping,
  • Giving someone a lift to pick up a prescription
  • Helping to organise social events (meeting and greeting, helping with activities such as bingo or quizzes).
By giving some of your spare time, you could make an important contribution towards helping an older person stay active and continue to live independently in their own home.

Why volunteer?
Volunteering can offer an opportunity to learn new skills, gain experience, make new friends and increase self-confidence.

Young volunteers can be rewarded for what they do as a volunteer by registering as a Millennium Volunteer, a recognised Award that shows how many hours you have volunteered and looks great on your CV, college, university or job application.

If you are interested in learning more, do give us a call on 01597 822191 or email the Powys Volunteer Centre at volunteering@pavo.org.uk. One of our Volunteer Officers, Hannah, Debbie or Michiel will arrange to meet you for a chat.
