Third Sector Broker
A year on….
My name is Claire Powell and on 15th May 2013 I was appointed as Powys’ first Third Sector
Broker & Info Engine Officer with PAVO (Powys Association of Voluntary organisation) My post was funded by Continuing Health Care and was initially a 12 month post (this has now been extended to March 2014) I would like to thank many of the people I have worked with over the past year for their support and their help in evaluating the post.
The purpose of my post is to:
- Encourage the safe and effective referrals of adult health and social care clients into voluntary services across Powys.
- To contribute to multidisciplinary discussions and broker support for clients from third sector organisations in response to identified needs.
- To monitor third sector activity arising form these discussions and identify trends, issues and gaps in service.
- To develop Info Engine so that it is fit for purpose.
I am based part of each day in the Communications Hub which is Powys County Council’s single point of access for adult social care which is currently entering a phased county wide roll out and inviting the public to help re-name the ‘Comms Hub’.
