Bringing organisations together for effective service delivery for Children and Families in Wales

This conference comes at a time when Third Sector children and family organisations are negotiating the challenges of representation, commissioning and economic uncertainty.  Organisations are being asked to:
  • Keep abreast of the changing face of planning and engagement structures
  • Acquire new skills that demonstrate how their service meets needs
  • Seek out organisations to work with whilst in a competitive environment
This round table conference offers delegates the opportunity to look at ways in which child, youth and family-focused organisations can be actively involved in the 'bigger picture' locally, regionally and nationally.  Further, to learn about the role of the "Third Sector Forums."

The outcomes of the conference will include:
  • Determining where engagement works best and why
  • Examining how third sector engagement is working in Wales at present
  • Establishing initial proposals to strengthen local, regional and national third sector engagement
  • Sharing practice around consortia and commissioning
  • Raising awareness of work around commissioning

  • Third sector organisations working with children, young people and families
  • Directors of local County Voluntary Services/Councils (CVS/CVC)
  • CVS/CVC Children and Young People's Network Co-ordinators (Linc3 Members)
  • Chairs and/or representatives of local CVS/CVC Children and Young People's Networks
  • Local Authority Governance Officers
  • Police Authority Officials with responsibility for engaging the third sector and/or commissioning services under the Police and Crime Plans
