Training: Challenging Homophobia

Aims and Objectives:
This course provides opportunities for youth workers to explore, challenge and reflect on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) issues within a modern youth service.  The training will be delivered within a confidential, supportive and inclusive environment where learners will be able to contribute in the context of using their personal experiences and youth work practice.

The course is designed to explore personal values and attitudes toward sexual orientation and provide opportunities for reflection.  The latter part of the day examines and provides strategies for managing homophobia within the youth work setting.
